Saturday

Still sick.  Will be brief.

Bought a vaporiser, had it going in the bedroom last night - these things are brilliant!  Can't believe I've never had one before.  Everyone should own one for when a cold comes on - they are around $49 and just wonderful.  Apparently, a vaporiser:
  • Keeps your respiratory system moist, allowing it to fight off bacteria, viruses and pollutants.
  • Relieves cold, flu and hay fever symptoms.
  • Relieves dry, irritated and itching skin and eyes.
  • Relieves coughs and dry, scratchy throat.
  • Helps you breathe better and sleep more comfortably.
  • Saves you money on your heating bills, since proper humidity lets you feel more comfortable at lower temperatures.
 So there you go!

Went to the Farmers' Market this morning, though didn't stay long as it was drizzly.  Amy wore Tabitha in the Ergo, and Tabitha kept craning her neck backwards to check who was wearing her, so cute.  Bought some fabulous chorizo from Fernleigh Farms, who raise incredibly endearing Wessex Saddleback pigs.  Here is The Daddy with one of the piglets, taken when we visited the farm earlier this year:

Today is my father's 54th birthday, so went to visit him this afternoon.  Mum was not home because today and tomorrow she has the end-of-year concert for her ballet school.  This is a very busy time of year for ballet teachers!  Gave dad an awesome metal robot, around 25cm tall, which you can wind up with a key.  Amusingly, it also says on the box, "Attention:  This is not a toy.  For adult collectors only."  All afternoon, dad and I kept dissolving into laughter and pointing to the robot and saying "This is NOT A TOY!"  It's funny because the box has a picture of children playing with it!?  I also gave him Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles cookbook, because he is always reading mine, and really enjoyed dining at Les Halles when he was in NYC last year.

Goodnight.
